recap.

one of my closest friends texted me tonight wanting to plan a weekend for us to get together. as i looked at my calendar for an empty weekend, it amazed me that there wasn't one. until the end of august. when did life get so busy? i only hope and pray that we are making sure to soak it all up and enjoy it while we can.

summer is halfway over and we have had an absolute blast. paul has been super busy (as can be expected) staying on top of his school work and continuing to teach in the 100+ degree savannah heat. i've been trying to work overtime and have been delivering a ton of summer-time babies.

in between all that, here's a little recap of our events so far...

we've seen a few great concerts (and apparently paul has a new favorite concert shirt and hat)...

dave matthews band
kenny chesney and tim mcgraw

obviously we've spent as much time outside on the boat and at the pool as possible...

we've enjoyed making new friends and are the newest fans of the savannah sand gnats and more importantly, "thirsty thursday"

we've had great friends come to visit and have loved showing them our new home...and we can't wait until we get to visit them next.

jay caught his shark.

katie and i enjoyed a sunset cruise.

ben captured a great white...

and of course we helped celebrate america's birthday by watching fireworks from a friend's rooftop on bay street...

it's been a great summer so far and the next two months promise to be just as fun (and busy)...stay tuned!

only1noah

Even though I have no musical talent what-so-ever, despite the fact that my mother insisted I attempted to play piano as a child, I have always loved listening to music, going to concerts etc. Jealousy might be the word, jealous of people's musical abilities and my lack of. Whatever it is, whenever I hear someone with talent, I'm mesmorized. That's how I can describe Noah...absolutely amazing, this kid is good. Watch out Phil Phillips.

Enjoy.

breadwinner.

Well, for those that haven't heard, Paul's the newest Billy Madison...we are going 'back to school'. Lucky for us though, he only has to start back at sophomore year...of college. In a little over 3 years, Paul plans to graduate from Georgia Southern with a masters in Accounting (ha, for those that know my father and can enjoy the irony in that, please laugh with me ). But all jokes aside, I'm super proud of him and can't wait to see where life takes us with this new adventure...Can I get some overtime please??

green.

...is a color that I am thrilled to say is no longer the theme color of my guest bathroom. Out with the green counter tops, green striped wallpaper and green tile...In with the beautiful blue, stained cabinets and granite. happy birthday to me. After two grueling weeks of work thanks to my lovely husband, I introduce my new bathroom!

before (not sure why there's a yellow-ish glow from the camera)

after...new countertop and stained cabinets
and new tile floor and wainscoting on wall!

and another room is finished...!

oops.

It's amazing how we convince ourselves of how busy we are. Apparently I convinced myself over the past year that I was to busy to blog. What have I been busy doing? Getting engaged, watching my best friend get married, planning a wedding, getting married, honey-mooning in Costa Rica, changing jobs, delivering babies, continuing the never-ending home improvements that come with a fixer-upper home, celebrating with friends over exciting new, crying with family over loss of loved ones, playing on the boat in the beautiful Savannah rivers, supporting my husband during his mid-life crisis...Ok maybe I have been a little busy...catch up time people!

May 11, 2011. Paul asked me to be his wife...FINALLY. And my friends received this mass-text picture within minutes annoucing our news...cue constant phone ringing with screams and squeals...

Summer 2011. Spent the whole summer on the boat...

...and when not on the boat, celebrating my dear friend Cat and Reeves' wedding...(bachelorette party included).

Fast forward to fall and showers galore..

AU vs FL stock the bar tailgate.

Does this really need explaining?

Savannah Oyster Roast
Bachelorette PCB!

We are so lucky and blessed with such wonderful friends!

January 14, 2012. Paul and I said "I do!" It was the absolute most wonderful day of our lives and was everything we ever imagined. We have never felt as loved and supported as we did that day, surrounded by our closest friends and family.

January 16, 2012. We left for Costa Rica and for 6 days lived in the lap of Costa-Rican luxury...take me back any day to the land of deep sea fishing, horses, beach, sun, waterfalls and ATVs.

January 24, 2012. Paul and I came home to "our" house and started "our" new life together as husband and wife. What a roller-coaster journey it's been.

May the fun never stop.

P.S. I promise not to be "so busy" this year.
